In a digital world that is constantly evolving daily, keeping up with news is of the utmost importance. Not only is receiving the news important but how quickly and effectively we receive that news is important. Subscribing to multiple magazines and newspapers is very beneficial to keep up with what is going on but it can become very confusing. Having to go from different site to site or various applications can become a hassle and overwhelming. Especially, when you are a public relations professional who need daily news updates to effectively perform their job. I have a solution for you that will bring some ease and consolidation to your everyday work. Apple News is a news app that provides news coverage of current events from all of your news media outlets. The application has access to over 100 publications, articles, and collections. Apple News Editors handpicks articles that are hot, important and compelling and puts it in a news feed that is easily accessible.

When you first open the Apple News application, you are met with a clean surface that has bold headlines and a clean, uniformed feed. Apple is known for their beautiful packaging, where every item included in it fits perfectly and its form fitting. Apple News is no exception from the way the headlines beautifully stacked on top of one another mixed with photos in between.
Audio Stories is one of the best features to this application. You are able to hear "narrated versions of the week’s most thought provoking articles with Apple News audio stories" (Apple News+ 2020). While you are on the go in the car or working out, you are able to keep up with the news when you do not have the time to stop and read. One of the downfalls I find about the application is that the interface on the Mac is a clunky and it does not have a as clean look as the mobile application. The use of tabs in the mobile application gives it a cleaner and smoother look. I will be looking forward to some future updates from Apple as far as design.

Apple News is free application that is currently only available on iOS devices, which includes iPhone, Mac, and iPad. There is a paid-for section to Apple News called Apple News+ that gives access to most or all content from select news sites and magazines. The monthly subscription for Apple News+ is $9.99/month after free 30-day trial. For more information on Apple News/Apple News+, visit https://www.apple.com/apple-news/.
